The Police Commissioner has today confirmed that the suspects involved in the alleged plan to assassinate the Interim Prime Minister, some Interim ministers and some senior members of the RFMF will be charged in the next few hours.

At a press conference in the last hour, Commodore Esala Teleni said that his detectives are still trying to determine the charges to be laid against the suspects.

Commodore Teleni has also confirmed that more people were taken in for questioning last night while the search continues for some other suspects.

He has also defended the decision to call the military in to assist in the arrest of the suspects.

Meanwhile, a number of people remain in custody in police stations around the Suva area, as police continue investigations on the alleged plan to assassinate the Interim Prime Minister, some interim ministers and some senior members of the RFMF.

Those in custody include Naitasiri high chief, Ratu Inoke Takiveikata, some former CRW officers including Daniele Koroi and Mils Barbadoes, SDL National Director, Peceli Kinivuwai, Peceli Rinakama, Colonel Metuisela Mua and former senior military officer, Jone Baledrokadroka.

Businessman, Ballu Khan remains admitted at the CWM Hospital. He is still under guard. When Village News went to the hospital Khan was being guarded by a police officer and two soldiers.

Police confirm this morning that about 15 people are in custody.
