People to be charged soon
At a press conference in the last hour, Commodore Esala Teleni said that his detectives are still trying to determine the charges to be laid against the suspects.
Commodore Teleni has also confirmed that more people were taken in for questioning last night while the search continues for some other suspects.
He has also defended the decision to call the military in to assist in the arrest of the suspects.
Commodore Teleni told the media that businessman Ballu Khan received minor injuries during his arrest after he and his bodyguard allegedly resisted arrest.
When questioned whether any weapons or explosives have been confiscated from the suspects, Commodore Teleni replied that they are still conducting their investigations and cannot say much on that.
The Police Commissioner is expected to call another press conference in the next few hours.
Meanwhile, a number of people remain in custody in police stations around the Suva area, as police continue investigations on the alleged plan to assassinate the Interim Prime Minister, some interim ministers and some senior members of the RFMF.
Those in custody include Naitasiri high chief, Ratu Inoke Takiveikata, some former CRW officers including Daniele Koroi and Mils Barbadoes, SDL National Director, Peceli Kinivuwai, Peceli Rinakama, Colonel Metuisela Mua and former senior military officer, Jone Baledrokadroka.
Businessman, Ballu Khan remains admitted at the CWM Hospital. He is still under guard. When Village News went to the hospital Khan was being guarded by a police officer and two soldiers.
