The Health Ministry said there is a need to take medical services to rural areas more often as most find it difficult to make the long trips to Suva.

Media liaison officer Iliesa Tora said following the CWM medical outreach team that visited Kadavu, Tailevu and Vunidawa, a lot of people took advantage of the team’s visit, calling for more in the future as it saved them a lot in travelling costs.

Tora said their most recent visit to Vunidawa saw 200 people given treatment, 40 of which underwent minor surgeries which they would have travelled all the way to Suva for.
