As hours remain for the start of the Wellington 7s, Vodafone Fiji 7's team captain, Osea Kolinisau says they are not known as the Fiji team anymore but as gold medalists.

While speaking to TVNZ, Kolinisau says a lot has changed since winning gold at the Rio Olympics.

The Fiji 7's players were presented with their jerseys today.

Fiji 7s team pool opponents and World 7s series leaders, South Africa has named a powerful side for the third tournament.

Even without stars such as Cecil Afrika and Kyle Brown, the side has top players like Rosko Specman, Werner Kok, Justin Geduld, Seabelo Senatla, Kwagga Smith, Chris Dry and Branco Du Preez.

Meanwhile, yet another player with links to Fiji will make his debut for the All Blacks 7s at the Wellington 7s.

The defending champions have named Vilimoni Koroi in the side that also includes Rocky Khan, captain, Scott Curry, DJ Forbes, Tim Mikkelson and Sherwin Stowers.

All Blacks 7's Co-coach, Scott Waldrom had heaps of praise for Koroi.

Barring any upset, Fiji may meet New Zealand, USA, France or Samoa in the medal quarter‑finals.

Fiji will play Australia in their first pool match at 10.46am tomorrow before facing Japan at 2.10pm while Fiji's last pool match will be against South Africa at 6.18pm tomorrow.

The medal quarterfinals will begin at 11.38am on Sunday while the semifinals will begin at 4.16pm.

The medal final will be held at 7.30pm this Sunday.
