People having garage sales should be careful when allowing other people into their homes.
These are the words of Police Spokesperson, Sergeant Atunaisa Sokomuri whose comments come after reports that people are being duped by a certain group of people who come to the garage sale under the pretext of buying items, when in fact, they are there for another reason.
A family of four living in Tamavua, just off Princess Rd had a garage sale on Saturday when a group of people came to their house on the pretext of buying items however, walked away with some cash, mobile phone and a laptop.
The house owner Rusum told Fijivillage News that they got so scared after the incident that they travelled all the way to Nausori to spend the night at her in-laws place.
