People To Spend Time With Families This Christmas
Here is what Christmas means to some people as they tell you how they're going to spend it.
As people are rushing to do their last minute shopping and most of all to buy gifts for their loved ones, the Fiji Retailers Association said business has improved overwhelmingly today.
President, Himmat Lodhia said while sales in various shops might have dropped from previous years, they are targeting an increase in sales from last year.
Lodhia said they expect more people to flock into shops this afternoon as most shops will remain open late today.
Meanwhile, the National Fire Authority has urged members of the public to take extra precaution this festive season after three people lost everything in a fire in Tavarau, Ba yesterday.
The owner of the house was believed to have been sleeping on the verandah when the fire started and initial investigations show that the fire may have started due to an electrical fault which started from one of the bedroom.
The fire fighters managed to extinguish the fire in three bedroom corrugated iron house.
There were no water hydrants in the cane farming area and the brigade had to travel 4km to the nearest hydrant to refill water.
