Several people who have failed to pay their taxes over the last ten to 15 years have come forward to take advantage of the tax amnesty granted by the Fiji Islands Revenue and Customs Authority.
FIRCA Acting Chief Executive Jitoko Tikolevu confirms that they have also identified people who owe huge amounts in taxes but are not coming forward.
Tikolevu also confirms that since the beginning of the tax amnesty period, they have collected over $2 million and remain optimistic of recovering over $30 million.
The tax amnesty ends on November 16th.
