A wet Fiji Day Celebration took place at the Albert Park today with people braving the weather to see what our President, Ratu Josefa Iloilo had to say to his people and watch the march past by the Fiji Military Forces and the Fiji Police Force and a 21 gun salute amongst other things.
The President, Ratu Josefa Iloilo today made reference to Fiji's brief independent cum democratic history and shed light on the challenges to Fiji's leadership along the way.
Here is a part of the President's speech.
Ratu Iloilo had gone on to urge the International Community to be patient and to understand Fiji's current situation.
Present at Albert park today were the Interim Prime Minister, Commodore Frank Bainimarama and some members of Cabinet and the Diplomatic Corp.
