All cases which were pending before the Supreme Court and the Fiji Court of Appeal have been deferred till later this year as the President Ratu Josefa Iloilo has not appointed any Judges to preside in these courts.

The May session of the Supreme Court was scheduled to get underway on the 11th till the 28th and now all cases have been deferred to the scheduled October sitting of the Supreme Court.

The Appeals Court cases scheduled for the June sitting have been re-assigned new dates in the scheduled September sitting.

Cases pending in the High Courts are also being adjourned till later this year.

Meanwhile, all hearings in the Magistrates courts are also being assigned dates in late July and August as there is only one magistrate looking after all cases in each district around the country.

Until such time when the President appoints more Magistrates, the hearings will continue to be deferred.
