Peceli Vocea new FIRCA chairman
FIRCA CEO Jitoko Tikolevu confirmed to Village news that Vocea has been appointed in accordance to the FIRCA Act and his appointment is effective from February 18th.
Tikolevu confirm that two new board members have been appointed by the Interim Finance Minister Mahendra Chaudhry who are Ratu Isoa Gavidi and a financial/investment advisor to the FNPF Francis Narayan.
Under the Finance Act the Chief Accounting Officer or Permanent Secretary for Finance be appointed Chairman of FIRCA. However, past appointments of the FIRCA Chairman were made by the Minister for Finance under powers vested upon him.
FIRCA now has five board members and the other two members are Permanent Secretary for Justice Pio Tikoduadua and Businessman Arvin Datt.
Peceli Vocea, who is also the Chairman of the Fiji National Provident Fund could not be reached for a comment.
