Payments to the landowning units of the proposed bauxite mining site in Bua has not been officially distributed.

The department has confirmed the landowners of the proposed bauxite extraction site, Naicobo clan is expected to collect $577,050 while the landowners of the proposed road access site, Noro clan expects to receive $32,950 and landowners of the proposed jetty site, the Nalutu clan will get $101,930.

Spokesperson Mareta Tawake said a criteria has to be followed by the landowners first as the million dollar bauxite mining in Bua will be further delayed for six months.
