The Ministry of Labours Disputes Committee is expected to make a decision by next month on whether the restoration of the four percent pay cut for civil servants should be back dated.

Committee Secretary Vimlesh Maharaj told Fijivillage that they are currently consulting with the public sector unions and the Public Service Commission before they reach a final decision on the matter.

The Public Sector Unions want the pay restoration to be paid out in July to be back dated and after a cabinet decision that the restoration will not be back dated they referred the matter to the Disputes committee for a decision.

However PSC Chairman Rishi Ram said it the interim government will not change its stance on the matter.
