As the country is celebrating New year, the Mayor of Nasinu has called on the Nasinu ratepayers to make an effort to clear their arrears.
Councillor Rajeshwar Kumar said hundreds of ratepayers still owe thousands of dollars to the Council and as the new year has started, interest will be levied on many property owners who owe rates.
He said The Council has made many plans to develop Nasinu and the Council's major expenses are costly affairs such as infrastructure and streetlights with other municipal services.
He is calling on all the ratepayers to join hands with the Council and share its responsibilities by equally sharing the work for the future growth of Nasinu.
