As the country marks Fiji road safety this week, director Traffic has urged drivers to keep their attention on the roads while driving.
SSP Mahesh Mishra said most of the road accidents are due to drivers getting distracted and these are some of the contributing factors of road accidents that need to be seriously considered.
He added that they are now working on introducing harsher penalties for drivers who fail to follow simple road safety rules.
The theme for this year's road safety week is “Driving Distractions Cause Accidents.”
