As people are still in the festive mood, they are being urged not to forget their obligations and clear their tax payments to avoid paying penalties as only three days remain in 2008.
Fiji Islands Revenue and Customs Authority CEO Jitoko Tikolevu said for the first time, their officials are actually visiting large Corporate Companies to remind them of the overdue taxes.
Tikolevu said penalties will be imposed if these taxes are not cleared in the next three days.
He confirmed that FIRCA is still owed an estimated $96 million in overdue taxes while they are still on course for the target of collecting.
