Past results not in favour for Fiji
The Iliesa Tanivula coached side are currently in Las Vegas, trying to create history in becoming the first ever Fiji 7s team to consecutively win in an IRB 7s tournament.
History shows that when Fiji won the 2006 New Zealand 7s, the side lost in the final of the USA 7s when they took on England.
In 2007, Fiji lost in the final of the New Zealand 7s to Samoa but then went on to win in the Cup final of the USA 7s.
Also last year, under the leadership of Tanivula, Fiji won the Hong Kong 7s however lost in the semifinals of the Australia 7s to South Africa.
They then lost the London 7s but went on to win the Scotland 7s.
Tanivula believes this factor will not be a hurdle to his side, as he will use it to motivate his players for the USA 7s.
Fiji's opening pool game in the USA 7s is against the host at 8.44am on Sunday.
