Passengers will have to board another bus if the E-ticketing machine is not working.

According to the Land Transport Authority after having discussions with the Fiji Bus Operators they have decided that if any machine in any particular bus is not working than the bus company is responsible to send another bus as soon as possible.

Acting Spokesperson, Alfred Wiliame said the new machines are an essential part of the buses now which has to be working and if it is not in working condition than the bus is deemed not fit to service and will be stopped immediately.

Wiliame said this decision is already in effect and drivers have to ensure they are adjusting to the new system to avoid mishaps with passengers.

He said even with the dual system in place at the moment, the machines have to be working.

Meanwhile so far around 10 complaints have been received by the LTA whereby passengers have been told by drivers that the machines are not working however there was nothing wrong with the machines.
