Passengers have the right to report on any driver who does not issue tickets to the Land Transport Authority.

As of the 18th of this month, it will be compulsory for all bus drivers to give tickets to their passengers or face a fine or even jail time.

The penalty: a minimum of $50 or a maximum of $500 or a three month imprisonment applies to bus drivers and passengers alike and comes into effect from October 18 after necessary awareness is carried out throughout the nation.

However, LTA Board Chairman, Greg Lawlor said the public can take the matter further if bus drivers do not comply.
