About 40 passengers escaped unhurt after the rear tyre of a bus caught fire this morning in Suva.
National Fire Authority confirms that the bus was going towards Walu Bay when the driver stopped the bus at the roundabout when he saw smoke coming out of the left rear tyre of the bus.
Initial investigation indicated that the fire was caused by a mechanical problem and further investigations are expected to be carried out by the Land Transport Authority.
