Residents living in the Suva/Nausori corridor will be without water for the whole of today.
Water Supply Department spokesperson Maika Nagalu has confirmed that the FEA power shutdown this morning has led to both the Tamavua and Waila Reservoir which caters for the Suva/Nausori areas not to supply water.
Nagalu said that once the power supply will be back it will take 18 hours before water supply will be normalize.
He added that water trucks will be going around areas which are affected by the water cuts.1
Meanwhile, residents of Savusavu have raised concern that they are facing water cuts from yesterday.
A resident Ashok Kumar told Fijivillage News that people are fetching water from nearby creeks and wells.
Kumar claims officials from the water department told him that they do not have enough manpower to work on the problem.
The water department is expected to comment later.
