Partial loans will be provided to needy students who have not been able to secure scholarship, but however have done well in the form 7 examinations, and wish to pursue further studies, as well as continuing students who have done well in their exams.

The Permanent Secretary for the Public Service Commission, Parmesh Chand said that the PSC Scholarship Unit did not receive any loan funding for this years new intake.

However he said a submission from PSC was made to the Prime Minister, who has agreed to allocate $1million to the scheme.

Chand said that Form 7 and Foundation Courses will not be sponsored in this scheme, students already on full scholarship will not be considered, and the student has to be between the age of 18 to 25 years old and must be a Fiji citizen.

He said that students wanting to apply for scholarships can go to the Government Information Referral Centre in Suva for online applications, or the PSC Scholarship Unit Office.

The application closes on 26th February.
