Parliament passed the 2016/2017 National budget last night.
31 members of parliament voted for the budget while 14 voted against it. 5 did not vote.
Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama had said the 2016/2017 budget is a very strong national budget and hard decisions had to be made as the country tries to recover after Cyclone Winston.
The Opposition had termed the 2016/2017 National Budget as small minded and short term focused.
They had said the budget offers no vision on how to prepare the country for the many economic challenges it faces.
