The Land Transport Authority is calling on parents to closely monitor their children during the long public holiday following a fatal accident involving a child.

According to Police and LTA, the student has died after he was hit by a bus near Semo village in Sigatoka yesterday.

It is understood the student was attempting to cross the road to retrieve his ball when he was crushed by the bus.

LTA Chief Executive Naisa Tuinaceva said that the parents should not take the life of their children lightly and always supervise them.
