Parents are once again reminded on the importance of supervising and monitoring their children in ensuring their safety is paramount during the school break.
People are advised to ensure that their children are not left unsupervised and are discouraged from visiting picnic spots on their own and using items which may cause fires at home.
Speaking to Village news, Chief Fire Officer Mark Reid said it is important for parents to teach their children about the danger of playing with matches.
Police Public Relations Officer, Suliano Tevita also stresses that more attention should be directed towards children during this period to prevent them from falling on the wrong side of the law and they should be discouraged from going to town on their own as this gives them an opportunity to become mischievous.
Parents are advised to spend more quality time with their children during this school break.
