The Fiji Rugby Union is calling on parents and supporters not to dishearten students participating in the Rewa Galaxy Kaji Rugby competition.

CEO John O’Connor says there have been incidents where parents and supporters use words that are discouraging to the players.

He says such things are barriers to a player’s performance when representing their schools.

O’Connor says this is a very special and enjoyable time for the players and positive support is needed.

Meanwhile, sponsors for the tournament CK Patel has given $120,000 to support the 24 participating teams.

The Rewa Galaxy Kaji Rugby competition will be held from 8th to 10th August at the ANZ Stadium.
