The Land Transport Authority has today confirmed that Benjamin Padarath was disqualified from driving for the next 3 years starting from August last year.

LTA Public Relations Officer Veronica Malani has confirmed that records clearly show that Padarath was not supposed to drive until 2009. Her comments follow a road accident involving Padarath yesterday afternoon.

The Central Police station confirms that Padarath received injuries when he lost control of the vehicle he was driving, went into the opposite lane and collided with an on-coming van.

The passengers in the van escaped injuries.

Police say that initial reports from the doctors at CWM indicate that the accident may have been caused due to Padarath's medical condition.

Padarath who was earlier convicted to three years imprisonment after being found guilty of causing death by dangerous driving was released on a Compulsory Supervision Order earlier this year.
