More tourists will be seen on the streets of Suva today as the Cruise Liner "Pacific Sun" is in the country from Australia.
The Cruise Liner has more than 1600 people on board and will leave for Savusavu, then Vanuatu this afternoon.
The tourists were this morning welcomed by the Fiji Police Force band and were greeted by the Suva City Council and the Tourism Task Force members including Deputy Mayor Josefa Gavidi.
Gavidi said SCC has joined hands with the Tourism Task Force which promotes Suva as a cruise destination. He said Suva has not yet been declared as a cruise destination and Fiji's rating is the lowest when compared to Vanuatu and New Caledonia.
Gavidi said 40 Cruise Liners will visit Suva this year and the cost for greeting and fare-welling the tourists will be met by the Suva retailers.
