The International Rugby Board has announced this afternoon that the Pacific Nations Cup will be extended for the next 4 years leading up to the 2011 Rugby World Cup.
Speaking to Fijivillage Sports, IRB General Manager for the Pacific Island, William Glen Wright has confirmed that this step has been taken to help teams like Fiji, Samoa, Tonga and Japan to be in their top form for the 2011 World Cup.
Also this afternoon the IRB signed a $200,000 sponsorship deal with Air Pacific as their official airline for the 2008 Pacific Nations Cup.
The competition kicks-off next week at Churchill Park in Lautoka where Fiji will take on Samoa.
