Fiji born rugby league players making a name for themselves in Australia namely, Jarryd Hayne, Akuila Uate and Petero Civoniceva could be part of the proposed Pacific Islands All Stars team, that is highly likely to meet England in the near future.

A proposal for England to tour New Zealand next year and play matches against the Kiwis, as well as a team made up of the world’s top Pacific Island players, is on the table.

At this stage, the Kiwis are only scheduled to play the ANZAC test in May and a one-off match against the Kangaroos in October, after the NRL season ends.

The Four Nations has not been scheduled next year in a bid to give teams time to prepare for the 2013 World Cup in England.

NZRL boss Jim Doyle said it was hoped a Pacific Island All Stars team, will feature the likes of Benji Marshall, Manu Vatuvei, Jarryd Hayne, Feleti Mateo and other high-profile players, would provide England with a tough opposition.

The proposal would also see England take on the Indigenous All Stars team, who already play against the NRL All Stars once a year.
