The influence of the western world is threatening Pacific Islanders lose their cultures.
Participants of the week long Pacific Youth Festival which ends today say the young generation are quickly losing their identity, with many not being able to even speak their mother tongue.
Ruth Ann Matagi from American Samoa, said we should be proud of our uniqueness and culture, and she has witnessed that youths in Fiji are maintaining theirs.
And with the 2nd Pacific Youth Festival ending today Fijivillage spoke to delegates about their experiences.
The closing ceremony will take place at Albert Park this morning.
