A new fire station is needed at Pacific Harbour especially now after a fire completely destroyed a villa over the weekend.
Lagoon Hotel Managing Director Jim Sherlock said it is now imperative that steps are taken to ensure that fire facilities are available at Pacific Harbour to prevent an incident as such, occurring again.
Sherlock adds that while the Navua Fire Brigade did their utmost to curb the fire, by the time the Brigade did arrive, there really wasn't much to save which is why Sherlock maintains the need for a fire facility at Pacific Harbour.
The villa belonged to former President of the Appeals Court, Justice Gordon Ward.
Police and fire officers are still trying to determine the cause of the fire.
The cost of damage is yet to be established.
