Next year’s Pacific Games may have the soccer competition played at the Under 23 level.

The Oceania Football Confederation is expected to make a decision soon.

The President of the Fiji Football Association, Rajesh Patel says the proposal is being discussed and the OFC may stage the Under 23 competition in the Pacific Games as the qualifier to the 2016 Rio Olympics.

It may be the first time in the Pacific Games next year that senior teams will not play in the soccer competition since the Games inception in 1963.
