Athletics Fiji coach Albert Miller said the Pacific islands have to re-think how it prepares its athletes for elite competitions.

The Olympian and former South Pacific Games champion said if the region wants to produce world class athletes, they may have to travel to the US.

Miller thinks Pacific Islands should look for funds and send a number of athletes to America, which has the best track and field system in the world.

He said by doing this, it could solve their problems as Pacific Island athletes have failed to shine at international meets.
