Participants at the 2nd Pacific Youth festival will be getting first hand health assistance with the setting up of the Safe Festival Campaign.

Organizers along with SPC and UNAIDS set up the booth which they hope will accommodate the over 600 young participants with special marketers in the form of peer educators or volunteers available to discuss issues ranging from  HIV and Aids to the Pandemic H1N1.

In their advisory to participants, organizers the Youth Ministry advised the young people to stay at their residences if they develop any flu like symptoms within 7 days.

Health Ministry Spokesperson Illiesa Tora had earlier revealed that they will be closely monitoring the weeklong Festival and the Ministry has not ruled out the possibility of closing any large gatherings.

The Pacific Youth Festival starts this morning at 8.30 at USP with the first speaker being 7s wizard Waisale Serevi.
