The Public Works Department is looking for expertise to buy the stand-by generators for the Water Supply Department.
The Divisional Water Engineer Central/Eastern Sereicokocoko Yanuyanurua confirmed that the Department does not have any generators and he said plans are in the pipeline to buy generators this year.
However, he said they will have to get experts for this and they are currently looking for one.
His comment come after power failure caused water disruptions in the Central and Eastern Division last Saturday for the whole day.
It has been confirmed that the water supply systems shutdown when we have power cuts due to no stand-by generators connected to the systems.
