A senior Hydrologist of the Public Works Department appeared in the Suva Magistrates court this afternoon charged with 10 counts of official corruption.
Faga Solomoni Finiasi is alleged to have approved overtime duties to 10 people, all employed under PWD.
The court heard between the 21st December, 2005 to December, 2006 Finiasi allegedly took cash from the 10 employees which totaled $350 after he allegedly approved their overtime.
Today he asked to seek assistance from the legal Aid Commission after FICAC lawyer, Paul Madigan served him with his documents.
The court has differed the plea to the 20th October and granted bail to a sum of $350, Faga has to report to CPS every Saturday from 6am to 6pm. Also he was ordered not to leave the country.
