The chief executive officer of the Lands Transport Authority said the call made by the Interim Minister for Transport to carry out inspections of public vehicles every six months will be implemented immediately, to avoid further tragedies like the one in Malaqereqere, which claimed the lives of ten people.

Etuate Koroi said the inspection of public vehicles has always been done thoroughly and safety issues are of top priority to ensure public safety.

Koroi added a review of the safety regulations will be carried out.
