The Public Service Commission has suspended a 32 year old Acting Principal Economist at the National Planning Office, after allegations that he was instrumental in putting negative comments against the Interim Administration on a blog site.

PSC Permanent Secretary, Taina Tagicakibau has confirmed that intelligence at the Home Affairs Ministry questioned the man and PSC decided to suspend him with half pay.

She said civil servants have a Code of Ethics to abide by and allegations against the Acting Principal Economist will not be taken lightly, since the allegations claim that he was using government computers during working hours.

However, Tagicakibau has brushed aside allegations, that the Principal Economist was questioned by the Home Affairs Intelligence, after he had a conversation with the taxi driver last week where he made some negative comments about the Interim Prime Minister, Commodore Frank Bainimarama which the taxi driver then reported to the military.
