The Public Service Commission has started conducting the second phase of its scholarship allocations following the release of the Form 7 results last Friday.
PSC permanent secretary Parmesh Chand added that under the 4 new programs, 12 new awards will be offered this year for PSC Overseas Scholarships, 480 new awards for PSC local scholarship program, 900 new scholarships under the Multi-Ethnic Scholarships while the student Loan Scheme will see 100 new awards given.
Chand said the new awardees should receive their offer letters before the beginning of the academic year in all the tertiary institutions.
PSC has been allocated a budget of over $15 million for scholarships and student loans for this year.
