The Public Service commission has received 965 applications for PSC Student Loan Scheme as yet.
The Permanent Secretary for the Public Service, Mr Parmesh Chand said that the responses received have been positive as their target for this year is to ensure that the PSC Student Loan Scheme received the widest possible reach to all applicants around Fiji.
Chand said this is an opportunity given by government to assist those parents who cannot afford to send their children to pursue further tertiary education.
He said PSC=s scholarship Unit is now going through an accuracy check and the selection of those who have been awarded the PSC Student Loan Scheme will be made early next week.
The Student Loan Scheme is an Affirmative Action Programme by Government designed to assist the disadvantaged families who cannot otherwise access tertiary education.
