The Public Service Commission said they have re-employed 204 workers on a contract basis that were part of the 2,269 workers that retired last month.

PSC chairman Josefa Seruilagilagi confirmed they have re-engaged the services of the 204 workers, from across the board which includes teachers, and civil servants from various ministries.

Serulagilagi added the transition of the new teachers ran smoothly, with the exception of some teachers, not being able to be at their posts at the beginning of term two which started last Tuesday.

He added that the 55 years and over civil servants had to go ahead to allow space and employment for more than 800 graduates to work.

Graduates from Fulton, Corpus Christi and other tertiary were part of the 800 awaiting employment.
