Speaking on the move by the Public Service Commission to rent out government quarters commercially, Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama said this is long overdue.
Bainimarama adds that this practice will continue to be in place as long as there is a need.
This follows revelations by Permanent Secretary for PSC, Parmesh Chand that the government is expected to rake in a total of $200,000 this year from the renting out of 12 quarters.
