The Public Service Commission has directed all Permanent Secretaries and government heads of departments not to purchase materials from four hardware companies unless it is approved by the Finance Minister, Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama.
PSC Permanent Secretary, Parmesh Chand has issued the directive through a circular which states that until further notice, no hardware supplies are to be purchased from RC Manubhai, Carpenters Hardware, Vinod Patel and Kasabias.
It is stated that approval is needed from the Finance Minister if the need does arise to purchase any materials from any of the four hardware companies.
The directive was issued earlier this week.
