The Public Service Commission has denied reports that they will be negotiating with Trade Unions on matters regarding civil servant reforms.
Chairman Josefa Serulagilagi said the government has already made it clear that the decisions currently being made to put all civil servants on contract was made under the State Services Decree which does not require negotiations with the Trade Unions.
Serulagilagi adds they are pushing on with the reform.
Fiji Teachers Union General Secretary Agni Deo Singh had called on the PSC to negotiate with unions on getting all civil servants on contracts.
Singh said there are current provisions in the Civil Service to assess performance and merits of civil servants and PSC should not have taken this step.
