The Public Service Commission will continue to hold talks with the various unions until a consensus is reached on the issue of the PSC announcement to stop automatic deduction for union fees for all its members in government departments.
Permanent Secretary, Parmesh Chand said that the underlying issue is costs and logistics involved in the whole process and talks will take longer.
He adds that the deductions have not been stopped but at the moment they are looking at ways that deductions carry on without any cost to Government.
All Civil Servants were entitled for a direct deduction from their pay to pay off the union dues.
