The chairman of the Public Service Commission (PSC) will now seek an explanation from its Permanent Secretary on why the Interim Defense and Immigration Minister was not informed of the decision by PSC to suspend his Permanent Secretary Malakai Tadulala.
Speaking to Fijivillage, PSC chairman Rishi Ram raised concern that Interim Defense Minister Ratu Epeli Ganilau should have been the first one to get informed by PSC Permanent Secretary Taina Tagicakibau about the suspension.
Ram said the PSC Permanent Secretary has breached the PSC protocol.
Numerous attempts to get a comment from PSC Permanent Secretary Taina Tagicakibau proved futile.
The PSC claimed Tadulala was suspended for insubordination because he failed to carry out a directive to discipline a immigration officer who also has been sent home.
