It has been clarified that the Permanent Secretary for Youth and Sports Subash Chandra has only sent in his intention to resign and has not resigned at all.
This follows revelations that Chandra is part of the government delegation which has gone to the Olympic Games in Beijing.
However, Public Service Commission Permanent Secretary Taina Tagicakibau confirmed that Chandra has not resigned as yet.
Interim Prime Minister Commodore Frank Bainimarama, Interim Minister for Sports Filipe Bole and Permanent Secretary Subash Chandra are part of the delegation to the China Olympics which will formally begin tomorrow.
