PRB homes not a permanent one
That is the sentiment of the Chairman of PRB and Commissioner Central, Colonel Mosese Tikoitoga who said that the homes being provided by PRB are not permanent ones.
Col Tikoitoga said that the process now is to ensure that after five to six years, these families move on to Housing Authority homes making way for new families.
Col Tikoitoga stressed that PRB homes are set up to provide affordable houses to young and struggling families and also said that this is one way of addressing the problem of squatters in the country.
He said this as the PRB entered into a $20million dollar agreement with China Railway Company that will see the construction of 500 new homes in the Raiwai and Raiwaqa areas.
The $20 million dollar loan is part of the $70 million dollar soft loan from the Exim Bank of China for affordable housing in the country.
Construction is expected to start next year.
