New Zealand Prime Minister, Helen Clark, is seeking talks with members of the Asia Pacific Economic Conference this week in Sydney to try to find a solution to the latest stand Interim Prime Minister Frank Bainimarama has taken after the reinstatement of the Public Emergency Regulation.

Clark, talking to international media, revealed that the reinstatement of the Public Emergency Regulation is "A bad sign for Fiji."

The New Zealand Foreign Affairs Minister, Winston Peters and the Australian Foreign Affairs Minister, Alexander Downer also exprsimilar views earlier this week.

The Public Emergency Regulation was invoked on Thursday by the Interim Government.

In an exclusive interview with Legend FM News earlier in the week, Interim Prime Minister, Commodore Frank Bainimarama has confirmed that the regulation has been invoked following the recent public statements of Ousted Prime Minister, Laisenia Qarase and SDL National Director, Peceli Kinivuwai.
