Papua New Guinea is out to avenge their 2007 South Pacific Game 1-nil pool game lost to Fiji in their opening game of the Oceania Women's Nation Cup in New Zealand tomorrow.

The current South Pacific Games champions only loss in that 2007 tournament came when Fiji edged them 1-0 and coach Francis Moyap will not have forgotten that surprise result and will be out to exact some revenge.

But Fiji coach Ramesh Sharma admited he had one eye on the future in selecting his squad but is keen to point out this does not mean Fiji will be in Auckland just to make up the numbers.

Opposing coach Moyap is aware his side is second favourites to take the title after New Zealand but believed that will count for nothing when the action gets underway.

The Fiji and Papua New Guinea game at the OFC Womens Nation Cup kicks-off at 1pm tomorrow afternoon.
